My first attempt at doing a number one cake

My first attempt at doing a number one cake

Hi There
I would like to enter my cake that I made for my niece’s 1st birthday last month.

I made it with a simple chocolate cake mix, add 6 eggs, water and essence and that is it and the icing was butter icing which I put colour mix in.

I decorated it up with all edible balls, hearts and sprinkled it with cake glitter.

The cake was a hit, everyone commented that they had not tasted such a nice airy sponge like this before, the cake was gone by the end of the party, which does not often happen.

I also made the cupcakes with the same mix, which also went down as a hit.

Many thanks

1st Pond Birthday Cake

1st Pond Birthday Cake

This Pond Cake was made for my son's 1st birthday as he loves fish and birds etc. I made a carrot cake with cream cheese icing and covered it with sugar paste and made little animals from marshmallow modelling paste.

Nicole's Comments Leigh I just love your cake and love the cute smile on your son's face even more:). It would be nice to know a bit more about how you made the cake and any tips and tricks you could give other readers so they can make the cake themselves at home.

This Humpty Dumpty cake was made for my little boys 1st Birthday.

He loved the cake and so did the other kids. They went absolutely crazy for the cake. It certainly wasn't a disappointment.
