Do you know what is your birth stone or that of your child?
For people born in any month, a special stone is assigned to them and this is thought to be their GOOD LUCK STONE. Some mothers have rings made with the birth stone of each family member.
Giving or receiving gems often conveys a poetic and special significance and this can be made even more special when the stone relates to the month in which the recipient was born.
If you look at the table below you will see that there is a modern and ancient list for each birth stone although some of the birth stones are the same. The modern list was created about a century ago as a supplement to the ancient one and a person can thus choose whichever birth stone they are most drawn to.
Lucky me has the Opal as my stone and being multicoloured means that I have a choice!
My recommended birth stone Jewellery shops for kids
I can never seem to find decent children's jewellery when I want it. It's often cheap and tarnishes the moment a drop of water gets on it. Below are some of my favorite jewelry sites which are well worth a look. All offering good value and lots of choice.
Find Jewellery (UK site) They have a good choice of jewellery which would suit kids and adults. The site is nicely laid out and not too pricey. Worth a look.
