This cake was for my friend's daughter.

Sponge cake covered in fondant. Added a muffin covered with fondant on top, glued and dowelled in place.

I used a doll, covered her legs in clingfilm, and placed little circles of fondant over the legs to make scales. Then used edible glitter to make her sparkle,

The sand is made out of golden and brown sugar

Dressing Up Cake

Dressing Up Cake

I made this cake for my daughter's 8th birthday.

Since the theme of the party was 'girls dressing up', I made these colored chocolates candy molds and placed them on the cake.

After the cake was cut, each girl got a slice of cake along with a molded chocolate they liked. I had a purse, lips, lipstick, comb, sunglasses, tiara, different colored boots that were placed on the wall of the cake and "GIRLS RULE".

This cake was loved by all girls at the party!

Doll Cake

-- Kid Party Cake --

Cake was made for a 6 year old - daughter to a work colleague.

Very simple cake. Made sponge in a pyrex bowl. When the cake cooled, cut in half and added buttercream.

Sunk doll into sponge, and moulded marzipan to make a skirt. Took a "ready rolled" sheet of icing and cut a hole in middle. Placed fondant over the doll to make a floaty skirt. Coloured fondant with pink paste. Made top of dress and pattern on dress.

Used flower cutter, cut flowers, glued into place. Added pink sugar balls. Rolled white fondant into sausage and placed it off shoulders to make straps.

Added edible glitter to make her sparkle.

Fairy Cake

I made this cake for my 3 year old. It was my first attempt at making a "3D" cake and took my 9 hours till it was complete.

I hired a flower tin and a cone tin to go on top.

I then used plastic icing for the base (flower tin) and royal icing for the dress.

I also used the plastic icing for the mushrooms - I rolled the icing into cylinders and compress them to give different shapes and made the lean to sides.

Then I pressed out a different colour icing to make the top and bent them in on the palm of my hand and fitted them to the top with a little bit of melted apricot jam.

Then I cut a small hole in the cake for the doll to fit in. I started with her skirt first - rolled the royal icing out and wrapped it around her dress and cut away the front section of her dress. Then I rolled out white icing and put that in the front. On the doll I carved out a top from the icing and pressed it down smoothly with my fingers, then put her into position.

I covered up the lines with a softer royal icing and stuck the wings on with a bit of icing held up with the help of her hair too.

I positioned the mushroom on the board and covered it with green coconut powder and smaller icing flowers bought from the shop. I also used softer icing for the detail on the dress and used silver balls also bought at the cake shop.

Nicole's comment: Tracy what a super cake and I love all the details. Well done!

I made this cake for my 5 year old grand daughter. I was influenced by a similar cake that my mother made for me in 1967. My grand daughter loved the cake! She was so amazed!!
