On those hot days or when the kids need a cool down, try this fruity slushy recipe. It really is a thirst quencher and the kids love it.

Fruit Slushy

• 3 cups water
• 1 cups sugar
• 1/4 cup lemon juice
• 1 46-ounce can unsweetened pineapple juice
• 2 cups orange juice
• 2 medium banana's mashed
• Ginger ale/sprite/7 Up - chilled

1. Place the sugar and water in a saucepan and dissolve over a gentle heat.
2. Mash the bananas and mix with the fruit juices.
3. Stir fruit juice mixture and sugar syrup together and pour into a freezer proof plastic container.
4. Freeze overnight or for at least 6 hours.
5. When you are ready to make the fruit slushy, remove the mix from the freezer and let stand for half an hour.
6. Scrape a large spoonful of slush and put it in a cup/glass. Top with ginger ale or other carbonated soft drink.
7. Drink immediately!
