Kid Drink Recipes......In my experience, many parents opt for bottles of fizz when it comes to a birthday party. I try and steer clear of it as I feel without it the kids are calmer.

Below are some of my favorite kids party drink recicpes that take no time at all to prepare.

#1 Strawberry Lemonade (makes 10 small servings)

Juice Ingredients:
1 cup cold water; 1 cup strawberries, halved; 1 litre bottle of lemonade or pink lemonade, handful of strawberries to decorate.

Method:

  1. Place the cup of strawberries and water in a blender and blend on high until smooth.
  2. Sieve if the children don't like small bits in their drinks.
  3. Pour into a big jug and pour in lemonade. Stir well.
  4. Slice the remaining strawberries and let float in the lemonade.

#2 Fruity Slush (Makes 7 small servings)

Ingredients:
150ml of fruit squash; 1/2 litre cold water; 10 ice cubes; 1 cup fresh or frozen berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries etc).

Method:

  1. Place all the ingredients into a blender and blend on high speed for about 10 seconds.
  2. Give the fruit mixture a good stir with a spoon and blend again for 5 seconds or until smooth.
  3. Pile into cups and serve immediately. Give each guest a spoon to eat it with. NB Store any leftover slush in the freezer. When you want to use it again, allow it to thaw to the slushy stage.

#3 Home-made Lemonade (Makes 10 small servings)

Lemon Juice Ingredients:
Juice of 4-6 large lemons; 1 extra lemon thinly sliced; 1 litre cold water; 4 tablespoons sugar.

Method:

  1. Squeeze the juice from the lemons.
  2. Over a low heat, dissolve the sugar in a pan with 100ml of the water.
  3. Allow to cool in the fridge.
  4. When cool add to the lemon juice with the remaining water. Add more sugar to taste if necessary and then add the lemon slices.
