Rebecca Joy's Pig Cake

My daughter turned 3 this weekend and wanted a pig cake so I made a simple sponge cake mixture and baked it in my pyrex mixing bowl on a lower heat and for slightly longer than usual. This, when turned out made the body. I covered it with ready rollout red icing and added the tail and hands (made out of pink icing).

I made the head by squashing a shop bought swiss roll into a round shape and covering it with rollout white icing that I mixed with a little food colouring to make pink.I attached it to the body using a BBQ wooden squewer.

For the legs and shoes I used the left over pink icing and 2 licorish shapes. The face/ears were made using all the left over white/pink icing.
