Rice Krispie Squares
This recipe for rice krispie squares is one of my mother-in-laws specials and is delicious. It is ultra easy to make and great for the kids to do.
Preparation Time : 15 minutes
Cooking Time : None
Serves : Makes 16 squares
Rice Krispie Squares Ingredients :
- 85g margarine
- 85g sugar
- 1 tablespoon golden syrup(light corn syrup)
- 100g packet of stoneless dates
- 140g Rice Krispies
- To Finish: chocolate for coating
Equipment :
- Swiss roll tin - lightly greased
- Medium sized saucepan
- Wooden spoon
- Knife

Method :
- Lightly grease a Swiss roll tin.
- Melt together the first 4 ingredients over a low heat. Add the Rice Krispies and mix well.
- Spoon into the Swiss roll tin and press down with the back of the spoon.
- Leave to cool and then cover with the melted chocolate.
- Cut into slices or squares.
Fun idea: You could also decorate these with smarties or choc chip shavings.
