Fruit Crush with fruit kebabs

Partying is very thirsty work and I can't think of a better way to cool off then this absolutely delicious fruity drink. It is one of my favorite non-alcoholic recipes and is perfect for kids.

Ingredients (serves 6):
For the Fruit Crush:
300ml/ 1/2 pint/ 1 1/4 cups orange juice
300ml/ 1/2 pint/ 1 1/4 cups pineapple juice
300ml/ 1/2 pint/ 1 1/4 cups tropical fruit juice
475ml/ 116 fl oz/ 2 cups lemonade
Fresh pineapple slices and cherries to decorate

For the fruit Kebabs (makes 12):
24 small strawberries
24 seedless green grapes
12 marshmallows
1 kiwi fruit - peeled and cut into 12 wedges
1 banana
15ml /1 tbsp lemon juice

To make the Fruit Crush:
Put the orange juice and pineapple juice into ice cube trays and freeze. Mix together the tropical fruit juice and lemonade in a large jug. Put some of the ice cubes into indiviudal glasses, pour over the lemonade juice mixture and decorate with fresh pineapple slices and cherries. Add a straw and umbrella for a really festive look. Writing this is making me thirsty!

To make the fruit Kebabs:
Thread 2 small strawberries, 2 seedless grapes, a marshmallow and a wedge of kiwi fruit onto a wooden skewer. Peel the banana and cut into slices. Toss in lemon juice to stop it discolouring and then thread onto the skewers. Serve with the Fruit Crush.

Your tips

**Save money on favor bags by recycling brown paper grocery store bags. Decorate them with paint, marker pens, glitter etc and write on the childs name. Jeannie, Kansas

**Always have lots of prizes on hand for party games. Have the kids win tickets instead of prizes which they can then exchange for a prize at the end of a party. Make sure all the kids win something. Ellen, Cambridge, England

**Kids make so much mess with cake and party food. To protect your carpet, lay a big sheet on the floor which the kids can sit on so they feel like they are having a picnic. When they have all finished you can simply scoop up the sheet and shake it outdoors. Less mess and more fun! Tata, Bangkok

Bag a Bargain

I only ever include here what I think are genuine bargains and also things that I think that you would find useful such as new items. I know that many of you are from around the world so I always include where the country is of anything that I recommend so as not to waste your time. We all know that time is precious.

Birthday in a Box (US store) have a sale on at the moment for Party Girl, Justice League and Scooby - Fun times. So get down there quick if you are after those party themes.

Have fun!
