Marshmallow Kebabs

How to Make Marshmallow Kebabs

Marshmallow kebabs are very popular in my household! Marshmallows are one of those sweets that somehow disappear in seconds.

Our favorite is when they are popped on the end of a skewer and gently roasted over an open fire till they become all gooey and soft in the middle.

Of course for a kid's party doing that might be a bit dangerous so how about these delicious marshmallow and fruit kebabs instead.

Ingredients for Marshmallow Kebabs

Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Makes about 24
Equipment: Skewers

  • 72 small colored marshmallows
  • Small pieces of soft fruits such as kiwi, strawberries, bananas...or
  • Jelly bears

How to Make These Kebabs

I would suggest making these on the day that you want to eat them as otherwise the fruit might go mushy.

Plus they take no time at all to assemble and yet they always look very impressive as a table centerpiece.

  1. Wash the fruit and chop into bite sized pieces.
  2. Thread alternate pieces of marshmallow plus fruit or jelly bears onto the wooden skewers. Allow approximately 3 marshmallows and 3 pieces of fruit/jelly bears per skewer.
  3. Arrange on a platter and serve.

Better yet, put everything in small bowls and set on the table. Let the kids make their own kebabs and you could roast them on the grill for them.

For older kids, you could have a bonfire and let them make and roast the kebabs themselves. It would be the highlight of the party.

Favorite Party Food Cookery Books

I have found it so hard to find just one cook book dedicated to kids savory party food. Most have lots of extra bits about planning and decorating that I don't necessarily want.

So I have done a bit of searching and come up with the 3 that I consider the best in terms of savory kids party food ideas. Take your pick.
