This cake was for my son's third birthday party- he wanted a superhero birthday. I found a picture of batman from a dvd case we have and copied it. I baked a large square cake and covered it with a base layer of icing and then cut the picture shapes out using a scalpel and stuck them to the cake using jam. I just used icing to stick the smarties to the cake. Time-consuming and simple...I had fun doing this one and the boys absolutly LOVED it.

my son would love this. Don't think i will be attempting it tho. Don't think mine would come out quite the same. He is guna b 5 in 2 weeks and wants a batman cake. A trip to the supermarket i think
