Halloween Party Ideas
I love Halloween, as do my kids. No matter what age you are a Halloween party is always a hit. Looking for some great Halloween games or horrible Halloween food? Well look no further. Below are my favourite Halloween ideas that I have collected over the years including Halloween food, costumes, decorations and lots of spooky ghouly things.
Making Halloween decorations with the kids is always great fun but sometimes if you are short on time and inspiration, a little helping hand can be very useful. After a lot of research I have come up with the spookiest and best value Halloween party suppliers around.
UK suppliers
Party Box
Inflatable giant spiders, bats and ghost, glow in the dark cobwebs, giant cardboard Dracula's and witches, table decorations, hanging skulls, doorknob slime. You name it, they've got it.
Jokers Masquerade
Definitely my favourite for Halloween costumes if you are looking for unusual items. Easy to navigate site with superb images and very good prices.
Party Delights
Another site worth a look if you can't find what you want in the above sites. Glow in the dark bats and ghouls, boxes of snakes and spiders, broomsticks. Not for the faint hearted.
US suppliers
Definitely worth a look. If you are looking for big spooky Halloween party stuff and spooky costumes then go here.
Buy Costumes
As the names says, they are the ultimate costume suppliers and no Halloween party is complete without a costume.
Makesparties
Loads of items for that trick or treat basket or for decorating the Halloween table. Everything is great value and the choice is superb.
OK the idea here is to make the Halloween food sound as ghoulish and ghastly as possible but obviously you want the kids to eat the food so make sure that it tastes good in spite of its name! By each plate of food make a little card (in the shape of a tombstone and decorated with spooky stickers) with the name of the food.
Here are some suggestions:
Bloody Intestines with Gallstones: Spaghetti & Meatballs Crusty Scabs: - Toasted cheese on rounds of bread or cheese straws covered with cheese and grilled till crunchy
Cooked Phantom Brains: - Cooked Cauliflower
Cats Tongues: - Long, thin slices of Cheese
Tomb stones: - Yogurt covered muesli bars iced with R.I.P.
Poison Punch : - Green coloured fruit punch floating with lava ice (see recipe below)
Lava Ice: - Gummy worms frozen in ice cubes
Boggie Slime: - Green jelly
Dracula's Hand: - Disposable surgical gloves filled with sweets/popcorn and tied at the wrist end with a black ribbon
Maggot Mound: - Round chocolate cake covered in chocolate icing with rubber maggots or gummy worms half inserted into the cake.
Sand-Ghosts: - Sandwiches cut in the shape of ghosts using a cookie cutter, with raisins as eyes
Strained Eyeballs: - Hard boiled eggs cut in half length ways and stuffed with cream cheese with slices of stuffed olives for the eye centre.
Severed fingers and toes: - Ladies Finger biscuits decorated with green icing along their length with a blob of red icing at one end.
Decorate the Halloween table with a black cloth and place lots of plastic/paper creepy crawlies amongst the food. As a centrepiece, place a large Jack-o-Lantern in the middle with a night light candle inside. Put plastic insects in each cup and give everyone green or black cups, plates and straws.
